Meet the people who make it happen
Sales | Trainer | Operations Manager
I am from Melbourne Australia. In 2010, I studied my advanced Diploma in Beauty & Spa therapy at the Spa Academy Fiji. Upon completion, I was proud to be awarded DUX. I returned to Melbourne & started my career as a therapist. I worked for some beautiful spas in Melbourne gaining a world of experience & skills (Endota spa & Japanese Mountain Retreat & Spa). I thoroughly enjoyed my work, however my heart was always in Fiji. I dreamt of returning to Fiji to contribute my expertise to advancement of the women of Fiji so after attaining my Diploma in Marketing, I applied for a job at Essence of Fiji. I was successful & moved to Fiji shortly after. Over the years I have watched the companies expand, and my knowledge & skills expand with them. 5 years later I have worked my way up from Sales & marketing to Operations Manager of the Essence of Fiji Transit Lounge, and now my latest appointment of school trainer at the Spa Academy Fiji, where now I have the ability to teach our students how to become amazing & passionate therapists at international standards. I am proud to be a part of such an amazing company & team, whose sole focus is to create employment & help sustain the lives of the Fijian community.

I am from Suva, Fiji. The University of South Pacific inspired me to take on a Bachelor of Science program with Double majors in Chemistry and Physics. I started my career as a Chemist in 2013 in a New Zealand owned (Nadi Based) Pharmaceutical Company. This broadened my knowledge in the field of Chemistry dealing with nutraceutical products as supplements for a healthier living, however my heart was always into the Research and Development Team at our workplace. When I heard about the soon to be vacant position of a Production Manager at Essence of Fiji I made an appointment to meet with the Director, Debra, to discuss the role. What intrigued me was the passion of this lady and the freedom and resources available to do research into new product development for health and Rejuvenation products. Another plus point was finding out that Essence of Fiji was not only a spa and a manufacturer of premium skin care products, it also aimed to empower the women especially those from rural areas by proving courses that would not only specialize women in the field of beauty therapist but also allow them to one day run their own business. Adding on to this was the possible prospect of actually being able to teach the Chemistry and Physics components of the courses offered. In the past 6 months of my employment we have developed 5 new products that is bound to boost health and rejuvenation, set a new line adding on to the current range and become a member of the Spa Academy Board. I come to work every day excited and inspired for the adventures ahead!
I started working for Spa Academy Fiji in the finance department in 2005. Over the years I have learnt & grown my skills and capabilities. I proud to work for a company whose sole focus is supporting the local women.
